Your dreamcatcher is Osage Native made, nontraditionally, with the utmost respect and appreciation for dreamcatcher history, heritage, and spiritual power. Dreamcatchers originate from Ojibwe and Lakota beliefs, of which both tribes had differing stories regarding the dreamcatcher. This dreamcatcher is not traditionally or ceremonially made, and is not made of Ojibwe or Lakota heritage, therefore its intention is not necessarily traditional as well.

We here at Magick Duke Creations esteem ourselves in the quality of our work.
Our dreamcatchers are made with rawhide and/or leather, some or all of which has been processed from start to finish by the main artist. Our dreamcatchers are crafted without the use of glues or tape. One of our goals is to strive for the use of all natural materials. The Dreamcatcher you have purchased is likely to outlast all of us in this physical lifetime, and may even become an heirloom item to be passed on to the next generation of loved ones.

The symbolism and Magick behind this dreamcatcher artwork is vast and intentional, while also being left open for personal interpretation. While the main inspiration being  that of the Native American dreamcatcher,  other pagan symbolism has been an inspiration for our dreamcatcher line as well. To put it simply,  this is a spiritually eclectic piece of artwork.

Another very important goal of ours at Magick Duke Creations is to help educate others on Osage Native American culture, as well as other various Native American cultures, through respect and the practice of cultural appreciation.

We strive to normalize the practice of supporting Native American artists without fear or misconception. Because of this, we have included some information on Ojibwe as well as Lakota dreamcatcher history with your dreamcatcher.

Disclaimer: This is not necessarily a real dreamcatcher as it is NOT made with the actual & real medicine that is gathered the proper & ceremonial way. To do such, one must be taught by an elder & follow proper protocol

Items that may have been used to create your dreamcatcher:

Rawhide: Animal hide that has been scraped and dried, but has not undergone the leather treatment process. This may include deer, elk, and/or cowhide.
Leather: Animal hide that has gone through the chemical process of tanning. Types of leather may include deer, elk, and cowhide.
Feathers: We follow all rules and regulations in regard to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. Any creations sold by us that include feathers are perfectly legal and follow all regulatory laws,  making it to where anyone of any heritage can legally and respectfully purchase and obtain these objects. Feather Magick  is ancient. Since the beginning of human consciousness, people have been adorning themselves and objects with feathers. Feathers have been included in magickal, medicinal, and spiritual practices all across the globe since ancient times.
Feathers included in your dreamcatcher may be (but not limited to)- Wild Turkey, pheasant, & peacock.
Copper: When using copper we like to source with only 100% USA copper. Copper does tarnish over time with exposure to oxygen, oils, and humidity. We find that the life journey/transformation of copper, as well as its vibration, further enhances the beauty and magick within our creations.
Antler Sheds: Antlers have a wide variety of spiritual symbolism associated with them, as they have a rapid growth, naturally fall off (or shed) each year, use a major amount of energy, and are directly correlated to testosterone & mating. In fact, antlers are the fastest growing bone in the world & initial growth is triggered by increased daylight (which subsequently increases testosterone). The antler(s) on your dream catcher are from whitetail deer.
Wool: When crafting spiritual objects we avoid synthetic materials, and this especially includes synthetic fibers. There is a vibrational/energetic difference between a naturally derived fabric, such as wool, versus a synthetic fiber.
Synthetic fibers trap energy therefore disrupting and reducing energy flow. Meanwhile, natural fibers such as wool, cotton, linen, silk, and so forth, are conductors of energy- meaning, they allow for energy to move/flow freely, and can even increase energy.

Care

Feathers are susceptible to damage from moths, mites, as well as other pests. The feathers on your dreamcatcher have gone through a rigorous cleaning & steaming process to ensure the feathers are pest free upon purchase, but like all feathers, they will require attention and maintenance. Smoke is a deterrent for bugs, so be sure to cleanse/smudge your feathers regularly. Please smudge with caution as flying embers can be a hazard to your dreamcatcher as well as your personal space.

Please do not allow your dreamcatcher to get wet. Rawhide is uncured and will subsequently loosen upon getting wet, and rapidly tighten when drying. This can change or warp your dreamcatcher & design.




Use & Intention
This item is not meant to be used as a traditional dreamcatcher. As it is not made in the traditional and ceremonial ways, it is more of a piece of art that is used to appreciate the traditions of the Lakota & Ojibwe people. This artwork is made with the intention to celebrate and honor the bridge between all living beings, the connection we have to one another through varying spiritual paths, and the connection between all people that makes us one, while simultaneously respecting what makes us unique. Please feel free to hang this artwork in your personal space where you see fit. Through education, admiration, and deep respect, we can collectively participate in the art of cultural appreciation.
Hanging your dreamcatcher directly above a sleeping space is not recommended as it could  be a major hazard if it were to fall due to failed hardware or extreme circumstances such as earthquakes.
